Overview: Designed by the legendary Severiano Ballesteros and opened in 2004, Porto Santo Golfe is a world-class 27-hole complex located on the stunning island of Porto Santo in the Madeira archipelago. The championship course is famously divided into two distinct styles: the southern section is an American-style layout featuring numerous lakes and bunkers, while the northern section is a rugged British-style links built along dramatic sea cliffs and rolling dunes. It is a course of immense visual beauty and technical difficulty, where the Atlantic winds act as a constant, invisible hazard.
Did You Know? The signature 13th hole is a par-3 that has gained international fame for its "all-or-nothing" carry over a massive gorge to a green perched on the edge of a cliff. Ballesteros' hallmark risk-and-reward philosophy is visible throughout the layout, particularly on the spectacular back nine where the routing follows the natural silhouette of the island's coastline, once serving as a premier host venue for the European Tour's Madeira Islands Open.
