Overview: Located in the lush Minho region of northern Portugal, Axis Golfe Ponte de Lima is a beautifully varied course that blends mountain and parkland characteristics. Designed by David and Daniel Silva, the layout is split into two distinct experiences: the first nine holes climb into the hilly Minho countryside, while the second nine return to more level ground in the Lima Valley. The course is famously scenic, winding through groves of cork trees, oaks, and chestnuts, offering a peaceful and challenging round steeped in the traditions of the Portuguese countryside.
Did You Know? The course is home to one of the most daunting tests in European golf: the par-5 3rd hole. Measuring a staggering 622 meters from the back tees, it was long cited as the longest hole in Portugal (and one of the longest in Europe). Successfully navigating this monster requires three (or more) long, accurate strikes, and its completion is often considered a badge of honor for any visiting golfer.
