Overview: Poʻipū Bay Golf Course occupies Kauaʻi’s south coast beside Keoneloa Bay, with exposed ocean holes, dry coastal vegetation and views toward the island’s volcanic interior. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the 7,123-yard par-72 routing, using cliffs, wind and rolling ground to create a course that feels connected to the shoreline rather than to a sheltered resort garden.
History: The course opened in 1991 beside the Grand Hyatt Kauaʻi and became the home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994 through 2006. The official course site continues to identify the property as Poʻipū Bay Golf, with the resort setting and tournament history central to its public identity.
Did You Know? Poʻipū Bay hosted the PGA Grand Slam for thirteen editions. That tournament run placed the course in a concentrated period of elite golf history while preserving the same south-shore routing golfers see today.
