Overview: Pinecrest Golf Club is an 18-hole semi-private course at 2250 South Little Lake Bonnet Road in Avon Park. The club's current scorecard lists par 72 and 6,719 yards from the black tees. The traditional routing runs beside orange groves, wooded areas and Lake Lotela, with multiple tee sets for different playing levels.
History: Pinecrest was built in 1926 as part of the Pinecrest Lakes hotel and resort. The club's history identifies Donald Ross as the architect who oversaw the original construction. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the course hosted the World Championship of Golf and the Haig & Haig Mixed Scotch Tournament. The city of Avon Park took over the course in the early 1970s before it was later bought by members.

The club's historical record names Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Mickey Wright and other major players among those connected with the course and its tournaments.
