Overview: Located in Pilar, Buenos Aires, Pilara Golf Club is a modern parkland layout designed with an expansive, open-space aesthetic. Lacking the dense tree lines of older Buenos Aires clubs, the course relies on significant earth shaping to create undulating fairways, deep bunkering, and large lakes. The large, fast greens feature dramatic slopes and collection areas, punishing inaccurate approaches and testing a golfer's short game.
History: The course opened in 2011 and represents the first Signature course designed by Jack Nicklaus in South America. The design process focused on creating a routing that could challenge top professionals while remaining playable for amateurs from forward tees. The club has hosted regional tournaments and serves as a premier training facility for Argentine golf.
Did You Know? The course uses creeping bentgrass on both the fairways and greens, which is uncommon in the warm Buenos Aires climate, providing a firm, fast playing surface similar to tournament venues in North America.
