Overview: Situated on the Baltic Sea coast in Siuntio, Finland, the Seaside Course at Pickala Golf Club is an 18-hole coastal layout designed by Reijo Hillberg. The course transitions from narrow forest corridors to open, wind-exposed seaside holes directly bordering the Gulf of Finland. The layout features flat fairways, large sandy hazards, and subtly sloped greens that demand precise wind adjustments and strategic approach shots.
History: Opened in 1986 as the founding course of the Pickala Golf resort, the Seaside layout was designed by Hillberg to establish a modern multi-course venue in southern Finland. The course was routed to preserve the coastal wetlands and pine forests, immediately establishing the club as a pioneer of Finnish resort golf and a regular host for national amateur championships.
Did You Know? Several greens on the back nine are situated just feet from the brackish Baltic waters, forcing players to play directly over sea inlets and offering occasional views of local marine wildlife, including swans and seals.
