Overview: Winding through a spectacular wilderness landscape of dense pine forests, rocky cliffs, and massive granite outcroppings in Siuntio, the Forest Course at Pickala Golf Club is one of Finland's most scenic and challenging woodland layouts. Designed by Jan Sederholm, the course features narrow, tree-lined fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and small, fast putting greens protected by strategic bunkers. The layout requires ultimate precision and strategic discipline to navigate the tight forest corridors and granite hazards.
History: Opened in 2004 as the third 18-hole championship course at Pickala, the Forest Course completed the club's expansion into Finland's largest and most comprehensive 54-hole golf complex. Sederholm's design utilized the most rugged and visually dramatic parcel of the estate to craft a layout that contrasts beautifully with the club's more open, parkland courses.
Did You Know? The course is famous for its dramatic granite rock faces, which line several fairways and greens, offering players unique, natural rock walls that can produce highly unpredictable and entertaining bounces for stray shots.
