Overview: Phoenix Golf Resort Champion is the most tournament-oriented of the three named routings at the Phoenix property in Hoa Binh. The official black-tee card totals 7,486 yards, and its par sequence totals 72 across eighteen holes; the course page describes a landscape of limestone cliffs and mountain terrain. The design asks for more than distance. Wide-looking fairways conceal preferred angles, bunkers and hazards influence the safe line, and the surrounding rock formations give several holes a dramatic visual frame. The result is a course that combines resort scale with a strong sense of the rugged land around Luong Son.
History: Secondary course records place the Champion course's inauguration in 2007, the same year the Phoenix resort hosted the first PGA Vietnam Masters from 22 to 26 November. The current official history presents Songho Golf Design Group as the designer of this 18-hole route within the wider 54-hole resort. That distinction is important: Champion is one specific course, not a shorthand for the entire Phoenix complex, and its design credit is kept separate from the designers named for the Dragon and Phoenix routings.
Did You Know? The Champion routing has an unusually wide spread of official black-tee hole lengths. The scorecard ranges from a 186-yard par 3 to a 621-yard par 5, with the limestone landscape visible in the course descriptions around several of the longer holes. The contrast helps explain why the course can feel strategic even when a fairway looks generous from the tee.
