Overview: Militia Hill is the modern 18-hole course at Philadelphia Cricket Club's Flourtown property. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry routed the course over open slopes and native vegetation near historic Fort Washington, using wide fairways and undulating greens to build a contemporary companion to Wissahickon. The course changes direction often and asks players to decide how much of the ground movement to use.
History: Militia Hill opened in 2002 as an 18-hole course designed by Hurdzan and Fry. Its opening gave Philadelphia Cricket Club 18-hole golf courses from three different centuries, a sequence that reflects the club's unusually long sporting history.
Did You Know? The course name refers to the nearby Militia Hill section of Fort Washington State Park and its Revolutionary War associations. That historical reference is part of the course identity, not just a marketing name attached to a new layout.
