Overview: The Wissahickon Course at the Philadelphia Cricket Club is an A.W. Tillinghast design. Known for its "wild" and strategic bunkering, the course offers a rigorous championship test in a classic parkland setting. The layout is characterized by its bold landforms, large green complexes, and a focus on strategic shot-making that has made it one of the most respected courses in the country.
History: Designed by the legendary A.W. Tillinghast and opened in 1922, the Wissahickon was built to be a premier venue for national championships. In 2014, a masterful restoration by Keith Foster revitalized Tillinghast's original features, ensuring that the course remains a benchmark for Golden Age architecture. The club itself is one of the oldest sports clubs in America, founded in 1854.
Did You Know? The Wissahickon Course hosted the 2016 Constellation Senior Players Championship and has been a frequent site for the U.S. Amateur and other national events.
