Overview: PGA NovaWorld Phan Thiet’s Ocean Course moves between parkland and links-style ground on the coast of Binh Thuan. Greg Norman’s 18-hole routing is listed at par 72 and 7,400 yards, with rugged bunkers, native grasses and undulating fairways giving the course a strong seaside character. The East Vietnam Sea forms the wider horizon, while the holes themselves rely on changes in lie, angle and wind exposure to shape the challenge. It is a course for players who enjoy seeing several possible lines from the tee and then committing to one.
History: The Ocean Course was the first operating phase of the PGA NovaWorld Phan Thiet golf project and was officially opened in 2021. It was built alongside the Garden Course as part of a 36-hole development, with the Ocean routing intended for championship play and the Garden providing a more parkland-oriented companion. That sequence places the course within Phan Thiet’s recent rise as a golf destination, rather than in the older resort history of nearby Mui Ne.
Did You Know? Some of the Ocean Course tee boxes extend to 100 metres in length, according to the club’s course description. That unusual scale gives the designer extra room to vary the angle and presentation of a hole before the fairway even begins. The course also uses Zeon Zoysia and Primo Zoysia, grasses selected by the operator for a lower-water, lower-fertiliser approach to the coastal environment.
