Overview: Perched along the rugged coast of the Costa Smeralda in northern Sardinia, Pevero Golf Club is an 18-hole coastal course designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. Winding through steep, rocky hillsides, the layout offers views of the Mediterranean Sea from multiple holes. The course features narrow fairways bordered by thick natural vegetation, significant elevation changes, and small greens protected by deep, strategically positioned bunkers.
History: Commissioned in the late 1960s by Prince Karim Aga Khan IV to establish the Costa Smeralda as a luxury resort destination, the course officially opened for play in 1972. Jones Sr. carefully routed the holes through the rocky landscape, preserving the native Sardinian maquis shrubland and natural water features. The club has since hosted several international events, including the Italian Open.
Did You Know? The wind is a primary defense of the course, with the prevailing Mistral and Scirocco winds forcing players to carefully adjust their shot selection and club choice on the holes that play directly along the coastline.
