Overview: Pelican Preserve’s Heron/Ibis combination is an 18-hole private course in Fort Myers, played from two of the three Chip Powell nines at 9802 Pelican Preserve Boulevard. The black tees are recorded at 6,930 yards and par 72. Its setting is defined by the community’s preserve landscape, generous landing areas and the combination of water, sand and grass hollow hazards described by the current club.
History: The Pelican Preserve golf facility opened in 2002 with 27 holes, named Egret, Heron and Ibis. Heron/Ibis is one of the route combinations created from those three nines, and its separate tee record should not be replaced with a facility-wide average. The current operator continues to describe all three nines and identifies Chip Powell as the golf course architect.
Did You Know? Heron/Ibis measures 6,930 yards from the black tees, placing it between Egret/Heron and Ibis/Egret in the route records. The three combinations are made from the same nines, but each changes the order and length profile enough to deserve its own scorecard identity.
