Overview: Pelican Pointe’s Meadows/Preserve combination is an 18-hole public-access routing at the Venice club’s 499 Derbyshire Drive property. It plays to par 72 and is listed at up to 7,182 yards from the longest tee. Meadows and Preserve are the original two nines at Pelican Pointe, moving through lakes, wetlands and preserved Florida landscape rather than following a single straight residential corridor.
History: Ted McAnlis designed the 27-hole Pelican Pointe facility, with the Meadows and Preserve nines opening in 1995. Hatchet Creek was added in 2002, allowing the club to offer three distinct 18-hole combinations. The current operator reports that the Preserve nine closed for a complete renovation in May 2026, with a planned October reopening, so the historical routing and its current availability should be kept distinct.
Did You Know? Meadows/Preserve is the original 18-hole pairing at Pelican Pointe, but the club’s three-nine system means it is only one of three official daily combinations. The course’s longest published record reaches 7,182 yards, making the original pairing the longest of the facility’s standard combinations in the available course records.
