Overview: Pelican Pointe’s Hatchet Creek/Meadows combination is an 18-hole public-access routing at 499 Derbyshire Drive in Venice. The current scorecard record lists par 72 and 7,049 yards from the gold tees. It uses two of the club’s three nines, with the Hatchet Creek side adding longer, more recently developed holes to the original Meadows and Preserve layout.
History: Ted McAnlis designed Pelican Pointe’s 27-hole facility. The Meadows and Preserve nines opened in 1995, while Hatchet Creek debuted in 2002, making the current Hatchet Creek/Meadows identity a later combination within the same club. The current website continues to present the facility as three distinct nines and reports that the Preserve nine closed for renovation in May 2026, with reopening planned for October; Hatchet Creek is scheduled for renovation in 2027.
Did You Know? The club’s three nines can be combined into three different 18-hole courses. Hatchet Creek/Meadows is not a separate permanent 18-hole layout, but an official sequence through a 27-hole facility, which is why its scorecard, yardage and course history are best recorded separately from the other combinations.
