Overview: Pelican Marsh Golf Club is the private 18-hole south course at 1810 Persimmon Drive in Naples. The current scorecard lists par 72 and 7,050 yards from the longest tee. Robert von Hagge designed the course around ridges, moguls, lakes and wetland terrain, and the club’s own history explains that the present 18-hole course emerged when the original community layout was divided and expanded in 1996.
History: WCI broke ground on the Pelican Marsh community in 1993, with an 18-hole Robert von Hagge course at its center. In 1994 the layout was shared with The Estates at Bay Colony, with nine holes on each side of Pelican Marsh Boulevard. In 1996, the original course was divided and an additional nine holes were added on both sides, creating two complete 18-hole courses and establishing the current Pelican Marsh Golf Club course. The club became member-owned in 2007.
Did You Know? Pelican Marsh was once built around a routing that required golfers to cross Pelican Marsh Boulevard to complete 18 holes. The later split and addition of nine holes on each side created two complete courses, turning a curious early routing constraint into the present two-course community structure.
