Overview: Pecanwood Golf and Country Club is an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature course beside Hartbeespoort Dam, with the Magaliesberg mountains forming its backdrop. The lakeside estate setting gives the course a blend of water, open fairways and mountain views. Published tournament data lists the layout at par 72 and approximately 7,697 yards from the longest tees.
History: Pecanwood first opened for play in 1998 and was the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course in South Africa. Golf Data constructed the course, moving more than one million cubic metres of earth to transform farmland beside the dam into a golf estate.
Did You Know? The name Pecanwood comes from the grove of pecan trees that stood on the property, while the course’s lakeside location places the fairways below the Magaliesberg range.
