Overview: Park Ridge Golf Course is an 18-hole public course at 9191 Lantana Road in the Lake Worth area. The current scorecard totals par 72 and 6,707 yards from the black tees. Built across the former Lantana landfill, the course uses dramatic changes in elevation, unusual for South Florida, to give its parkland routing a more varied set of lies and lines than the surrounding flat terrain suggests.
History: Park Ridge opened in 2007 on a reclaimed landfill site, a partnership that turned a former waste property into a public golf facility. Course records credit Roy Case and Jeffrey Grossman with the design, while the county and club describe the course as an 18-hole public layout. In 2009 it became an Audubon International Certified Sanctuary, adding a documented environmental chapter to the site’s unusual history.
Did You Know? The course rises and falls across an approximately 85-foot elevation change, and locals have referred to the former landfill site as “The Dump.” That nickname is a reminder of the land’s past, while the current fairways and sanctuary designation show how dramatically the property was repurposed.
