Overview: Park Mammoth Golf Club in Park City is a modern Kentucky layout built around a dramatic transformation of the former Cave Valley property. The course combines woodland edges, open ground and the broad views of a bowl-shaped site. Its identity comes from the meeting of traditional golf ideas and new-age construction: a re-routed 18-hole course, new greens, tees, fairways and bunkers, plus an irrigation system designed for the rebuilt layout. The result is a compact, strategic course that places a premium on choosing the right line and managing the changing sightlines.
History: The property was purchased at a bankruptcy auction in late 2019. What began in 2020 as a smaller renovation plan became a comprehensive redesign by Brian Ross and Colton Craig. Ross Golf Design records the re-routing and construction work, while the project brief describes the new greens, bunkers, fairways and irrigation that replaced the former arrangement. Park Mammoth opened to the public in April 2022 under its present name, making the current course a new chapter rather than a simple cosmetic update of Cave Valley.
Did You Know? Park Mammoth earned national attention almost immediately: the club records a third-place finish among Golf Digest's 2023 Best New Public Courses in America. The architects also returned to the property for Little Mammoth, a separate nine-hole loop that began operation in 2025.
