Overview: Palmer Gold Coast is an 18-hole, par-71 resort course at Robina, built through native woodland and residential Gold Coast surroundings. The current course measures 6,078 metres from the championship tees and uses rolling fairways, lakes, creeks and ponds to create a round that is more strategic than its resort label suggests. Graham Marsh and Ross Watson’s design gives the property a mature, wooded feel, while the nearby beaches and hotels make it an easy addition to a Gold Coast golf itinerary.
History: The course belongs to the Gold Coast’s major resort-golf development period, when native land was reshaped into destination facilities with accommodation, dining and golf together. The Marsh/Watson team brought a clear architectural identity to Palmer Gold Coast, using existing woodland and watercourses rather than filling the site with repetitive hazards. The current operator presents it as one of Queensland’s established resort courses rather than a new-build novelty.
Did You Know? The official description notes that the course occupies 65 hectares of native woodland. That figure helps explain the atmosphere: although Palmer Gold Coast is surrounded by a growing urban area, the fairways still move through tall eucalyptus and natural water features that feel separate from the city.
