Overview: Palmer Colonial is an 18-hole resort course in the Gold Coast hinterland, designed as a warm-climate parkland round with a strong sense of place. The official material lists par 72 and 6,424 metres from the championship tees, about 7,020 yards. Lakes, eucalyptus, shaped fairways and extensive bunkering give the course a varied rhythm. Some holes invite a bold drive, while others reward a player who keeps the ball in position and approaches the green from the correct angle.
History: The course opened in 1992 under the name Paradise Springs and was designed by Mitsuaki Kobayashi. It later became part of the Palmer Golf portfolio and took the Palmer Colonial name. That history explains the mix of resort presentation and established vegetation: the course is mature enough to feel settled, yet its original design remains visible in the strategic relationship between fairway, lake and green.
Did You Know? The course occupies about 39 hectares, so its challenge comes from using a relatively compact resort footprint intelligently. Water and native trees frame the corridors without removing every recovery option.
