Overview: Combining the parkland-inspired Alvor loop with the pure links-land of the Praia loop, this 18-hole combination at Palmares is arguably one of the most diverse rounds in the Algarve. While the Alvor nine requires shaded, tactical play through mature trees and elevation changes, the Praia loop (holes 19-27) is set directly amongst the sand dunes and the coastline. This section is a true links challenge, featuring open exposure to Atlantic winds, deep bunkers, and the sound of the surf, offering a visceral and raw connection to the ocean that few other courses in the region can match.
Did You Know? The Praia loop is the only section of Palmares where the fairways are essentially at sea level, literal "links" between the hillside and the beach. Golfers playing the Alvor/Praia combination will experience a 100-meter drop in elevation as they transition between the loops, requiring a complete shift in strategy as they move from the sheltered, hilly fairways to the windy, sandy expanse of the Alvor dunes.
