Overview: Palm Resort's Cempaka Course measures 18 holes and par 72 on the Senai, Johor estate. The official club page lists 7,156 yards from the professional tees and credits Japanese architect Hiromasa Inagawa. Cempaka is presented as the tournament course within Palm Resort's three-course, 54-hole complex. Severe doglegs, relatively narrow fairways, nine water hazards and more than 60 sand bunkers make placement a recurring demand. The broad, undulating Bermuda greens provide a counterpoint to that accuracy test, giving well-positioned approaches room to use the putting surfaces.
History: Cempaka was developed as one of the three 18-hole courses at Palm Resort, a golf-and-hotel property established in 1994 near Senai International Airport. The club's current history page places the three routings on an 800-acre estate and identifies Hiromasa Inagawa with the resort's course design. Cempaka has retained its separate tournament identity within the complex, alongside Allamanda's resort character and Melati's links-style presentation. This is why the course is recorded as its own routing rather than as a generic Palm Resort profile.
Did You Know? The club's course notes highlight several features beyond the headline yardage. The ninth includes an island fairway, holes twelve and thirteen are separated by a coffee plantation, and the fourteenth crosses a ravine. The second nine therefore changes the visual and strategic rhythm after the opening sequence of doglegs, bunkers and water hazards. Those details also explain why Cempaka feels like a tournament course without needing excessive length to create its challenge.
