Overview: Palm Aire’s Palms Course is an 18-hole public daily-fee course at 3701 Oaks Clubhouse Drive in Pompano Beach. William Mitchell laid out the original Palms course, which the club dates to 1959; the current back-tee record is 6,944 yards at par 72. The course is the oldest of the three Palm Aire layouts at the Pompano Beach property.
History: ClubLink’s history records George Palmer and Harold Broiler founding the Palms Golf Course in 1959, followed by a 50-room lodge in 1962. The same history places the later Oaks construction in 1971 and Cypress construction in 1972, and credits William Mitchell with the Palms layout. Palm Aire now operates the three courses through its daily-fee golf program.
Did You Know? The Palms is the course that gave Palm Aire its earliest golf identity: it predates the Oaks and Cypress layouts by more than a decade. Its name also reflects the original property, where golf and the lodge were developed together before the later multi-course expansion.
