Overview: Pali Golf Course is a municipal Honolulu layout on the windward side of the Koʻolau range. The course uses rolling ground, exposed trade winds and views of the steep Pali landscape to create a varied parkland round. Current Hawaii State Golf Association ratings list the white course at 6,499 yards and par 72.
History: The city acquired the former Castle ranch and surrounding land in the early 1950s. Nine holes were built between 1953 and 1957, followed by a redesign and expansion to 18 holes and a clubhouse in 1957. Willard G. Wilkinson is credited with the course design in published golf references.
Did You Know? Pali’s land history predates the golf course by many decades. The property was associated with Castle ranch and later a military encampment before becoming a city-operated course on the windward side.
