Overview: Paarl Winelands is the 18-hole combination formed by holes 10–18 and 19–27 at Paarl Golf Club’s 27-hole Boschenmeer facility. The yellow-tee combination measures about 6,179 metres at par 72, moving through the Berg River valley with vineyards and Paarl Mountain in view. It feels more open and estate-oriented than the Old Course while retaining the club’s river and mountain setting.
History: The Winelands routing grew from the 1997 Boschenmeer development, when a third nine was added and the original course was revised. Danie Obermeyer and David Frost were involved in the expanded design, giving the new nine a distinct identity within the larger club. The result is a flexible facility that can offer three different 18-hole combinations.
Did You Know? The club’s 27 holes mean that the Winelands course is not simply a name for the whole facility. It is a precise two-nine combination, and changing the 18-hole pairing can alter the order of the hazards, the prevailing wind and the visual approach to the clubhouse.
