Overview: Ozaukee Country Club is a private Mequon course along the Milwaukee River, known for undulating greens, visible landing areas and a traditional layout that has matured from its original links-style character. The course plays to par 70 at roughly 6,700 yards and includes a notable collection of long par fours. Natural habitat is part of the property’s visual identity as well as its stewardship program.
History: Ozaukee was founded in the early 1920s and the original course was planned by William Langford and Theodore Moreau. The club’s own history records its formation by local members and a long series of clubhouse and property improvements. It has also hosted Wisconsin State Amateur and other WSGA and USGA events.
Did You Know? Ozaukee was the first Wisconsin course to receive full nature-preservation certification from the New York Audubon Society, according to the club. Five stone bridges built by the grounds staff now form part of the course landscape and help tie the river setting to the routing.
