Overview: Otepää Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-73 woodland course in the rolling hills of southern Estonia, near the town known as the country’s winter capital. Pekka Wesamaa’s layout uses elevation change, lakes, forest edges and open hill ground to create a course that rarely repeats the same visual problem. The official course page identifies the full-size par-73 routing and the directory records approximately 6,642 yards. The tenth is a rare par-6 in the Nordic region, adding an unusual long-hole rhythm to a course that otherwise asks for conventional strategic decisions through a varied natural setting.
History: Otepää was developed in stages. The first nine holes were in play from 2006, while holes 10 through 18 and the main clubhouse followed in 2007. Because this directory row represents the complete 18-hole course, 2007 is used as its opening year. The staged construction allowed the course to establish itself while the full championship routing was still being finished, and the completed result became one of Estonia’s distinctive golf destinations in a landscape already associated with outdoor sport and winter competition.
Did You Know? Otepää’s tenth hole is a par-6, a rarity in the Nordic countries and one of the course’s defining talking points. The official scorecard shows the hole as part of the par-73 layout, so it is not a novelty hole separated from the main round. It changes the pacing of the back nine by asking players to manage a much longer sequence of shots before reaching the green.
