Overview: Otaru Country Club’s Right green variant belongs to the New Course, an 18-hole seaside layout with a current official total of 7,467 yards and par 72. The course sits in a windswept Hokkaido setting where the coastal edge, exposed fairways and shaped ground all influence the line of play. The Right label is preserved for directory precision, but the physical golf course is the single New Course routing.
History: The club began with three holes in 1928 before growing into the present Otaru complex. Kokichi Yasuda created the current New Course, which opened in 1974. Otaru’s tournament record includes two Japan Open editions and a Japan Professional Championship, evidence of how the demanding coastal routing has been regarded beyond local golf.
Did You Know? Otaru’s official home page makes an unusual identity point clear: the Old Course is nine holes, while the New Course is the full 18-hole layout. That is why this Right row shares the New Course history and scorecard with the Left row, and why the separate Old Course target has been held for directory correction.
