Overview: Situated on the picturesque shores of Lake Bogstad just outside the city center, Oslo Golfklubb is Norway's oldest and most prestigious golf course. The parkland layout features lush, tree-lined fairways, beautifully sculpted bunkers, and pristine greens that roll fast and true. Water comes into play on several holes, most notably along the lake's edge, where players must contend with both the coastal breeze and the stunning, distracting mountain backdrop.
History: Founded in 1924, Oslo Golfklubb has served as the historic cradle of Norwegian golf. In 2009, the course underwent a complete, state-of-the-art redesign by Steve Forrest of Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest & Associates, which saw all 18 holes rebuilt from the ground up with modern drainage, bentgrass greens, and a highly strategic layout designed to host major European championships.
Did You Know? During the German occupation of Norway in World War II, the golf course was confiscated and used as agricultural land to grow potatoes and vegetables to feed the local population, before being meticulously restored after the war.
