Overview: Osceola Municipal Golf Course is an 18-hole public course operated by the City of Pensacola. The current scorecard record lists par 70 and 6,402 yards from the Blue tees. Its setting retains the small greens and narrow fairways associated with the historic course, while the present course also includes renovated greens and a modern practice facility.
History: Osceola's golf history begins in 1926, when Bill Mehlhorn designed the original course work. The Florida Historic Golf Trail records the official opening of the 18-hole course in October 1930. Harrison Minchew directed a major 2011 renovation that rebuilt greens, added four holes and reopened the course as a par-70 layout.
Did You Know? In 1929 Osceola hosted matches connected with the Pensacola Open, and the city's history page notes that Horton Smith played there shortly before winning the tournament. The course is also part of the Florida Historic Golf Trail.
