Overview: The National Course at Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate is an 18-hole resort course at 1500 Masters Boulevard in ChampionsGate. The current Omni page lists par 72 and 7,197 yards from the black tees. It moves through 200 acres of woodlands, wetlands and former orange groves, with broad fairways, sculpted bunkers, doglegs and smaller greens that reward controlled approach play.
History: The National was built as one half of the 36-hole ChampionsGate facility and opened in 2000. Published course histories credit Greg Norman with both the National and International designs. The resort later became part of the Omni Orlando operation, while the National's current page continues to identify the course as a separate 18-hole routing with its own maintenance schedule and tee card.
Did You Know? The National course contains 80 sculpted bunkers across its American-style routing. Despite the amount of sand and the water on many holes, the resort notes that few forced carries give golfers more than one way to manage the layout.
