Overview: The Scarlet Course at Ohio State University Golf Club is an 18-hole collegiate layout in Columbus. Its mature parkland setting and large, strategic greens reflect Alister MacKenzie's original routing and later work by Perry Maxwell and Jack Nicklaus.
History: MacKenzie prepared the original plans in 1931, Perry Maxwell supervised construction, and the course opened in 1938. Nicklaus restored and lengthened the Scarlet Course in 2005-06 while retaining its historic structure.
Did You Know? The design lineage spans three major architects: MacKenzie planned it, Maxwell brought it to completion, and Nicklaus led the modern restoration.
