Overview: Ocean Castle Country Club is a hilly 18-hole course in central Okinawa, with elevated ground, changing contours and views across both the Pacific and the East China Sea. Accordia’s current English course record lists par 72 and 6,498 yards. The course is close to the World Heritage site of Nakagusuku Castle, and the surrounding historic landscape helps distinguish it from a generic resort layout.
History: Ocean Castle opened on November 15, 2003. The current Accordia record credits Masa Okubo with the design, while other course material uses a slightly different romanization for the same designer. The routing was shaped for the island’s rolling terrain, with the wind and elevation creating a more demanding round than the coastal name alone might suggest.
Did You Know? The course’s name sits beside a genuine Okinawan castle landscape rather than an invented theme. Nakagusuku Castle’s stonework and hilltop position are part of the setting around the golf property, so a round here connects modern course design with one of the island’s most important historical sites.
