Overview: Oakdale’s Homenuik/Knudson routing is an exact 18-hole combination of two of the club’s three named nines in North York, Toronto. Stanley Thompson created the first holes, Robbie Robinson added the final nine in 1957, and Ian Andrew has led modern restoration work. The parkland course rolls over the old farm property with Black Creek moving through the design. Current sources do not publish one stable par and yardage for this composite, so those fields remain blank rather than being copied from another Oakdale combination.
History: Oakdale was founded in 1926 when Toronto businessmen purchased a farm north of the city. Thompson crafted the initial nine and later added another nine, while Robinson created the third loop in 1957. Recent restoration under Ian Andrew has opened views, restored bunkers and brought parts of the property closer to Thompson’s design intent. The directory name preserves the exact order of the Homenuik and Knudson nines within that three-loop history.
Did You Know? Oakdale’s three nines are named for figures in Canadian golf: Stanley Thompson, George Knudson and Wilf Homenuik. That means the order of a composite round carries a small piece of club history. The Homenuik/Knudson routing is not interchangeable with the two other combinations, even though all three share the same Toronto farm landscape and Black Creek.
