Overview: As the historic first Spanish design by the legendary Severiano Ballesteros, Course A (Mar y Pinos) at Real Novo Sancti Petri is a landmark of Mediterranean golf. Inaugurated in 1990 near the pristine shores of La Barrosa in Cádiz, this par-72 championship layout is a rhythmic journey through two distinct environments. The front nine ("Mar") offers a coastal challenge on flatter terrain with wide, inviting fairways influenced by the Atlantic breeze, while the back nine ("Pinos") head inland into dense pine forests, creating a tighter, more technical atmosphere. The course is celebrated for its strategic complexity and its seamless integration into the natural beauty of the Costa de la Luz.
Did You Know? The course features what is widely considered one of the most spectacular holes in Spain: the par-4 6th, where the green is perched directly above the Atlantic cliffs, providing a breathtaking view of the sea and the endless sands of La Barrosa. Ballesteros left his personal trademark across the routing, including his iconic "S"-shaped bunkers that challenge even the most seasoned players. Holding the prestigious "Real" (Royal) distinction since 2016, the club remains a permanent pilgrimage site for those seeking to experience the indomitable spirit and tactical brilliance of Spain’s greatest golfing pioneer.
