Overview: The Old Course at Nordbornholms Golf Klub is an 18-hole, par-71 parkland routing at Rø on Bornholm. The course is not long by modern championship standards, but its narrow corridors, exposed ground, woodland, rock outcrops and small lakes demand accurate placement. Regional Bornholm golf information records 5,369 metres from the yellow tees, approximately 5,874 yards, and describes a course where the natural scenery is matched by a technical challenge. The island's changing weather can also make the short-looking holes play with more uncertainty than the card suggests.
History: The Old Course began in 1983 and was fully developed as an 18-hole course in 1987. This directory row represents the completed Old Course, so 1987 is used as its opening year rather than the first club or partial-course date. A separate New Course was added at Rø in 2005, creating two very different 18-hole experiences under the later Rø golf arrangement. The Old Course remains the shorter and more intimate of the pair, tied closely to the original woodland and rock landscape.
Did You Know? Bornholm's Old Course is described locally as a course that can win several times before a golfer becomes familiar with it. Its narrow lines and frequent changes in visual scale explain that reputation: a hole can appear straightforward from the tee, then demand a precise angle around trees, rock or a small lake. The combination of modest length and exacting positioning is the course's defining trick.
