Overview: Noosa Springs is a resort 18-hole par 72 course built around the freshwater landscape of the Noosa hinterland. The course opened in 1999 and measures about 6,180 metres, or roughly 6,759 yards. Graham Papworth's design uses water, native vegetation, broad fairways and shaping around the greens to create a round that feels scenic without losing its strategic edge. Ten freshwater lakes and numerous bunkers mean that a confident line is valuable, but a thoughtful line is usually safer.
History: The course was part of the development of Noosa Springs as a golf, spa and residential destination. Its opening on 9 May 1999 gave Noosa a resort layout designed specifically for visitors as well as local play. The venue has continued to present golf as the centrepiece of a broader stay-and-play experience, with the original resort setting and Papworth routing still defining its character.
Did You Know? The ten freshwater lakes are not only landscape features. They appear in the strategic choices throughout the round, influencing lines from tees and approaches and making distance control important. A golfer who sees only the generous fairways can quickly discover that the best score comes from respecting the water before it becomes visible in the next shot.
