Overview: Nissin Miyako Country Club is a highland members' club above Uji, where the land is shaped into a compact, strategic route rather than a flat city course. Current public course data reports 18 holes at par 72 and 6,267 yards, while the club's history explains that the modern 18-hole arrangement grew out of a larger early routing.
History: Nissin Miyako's documented chronology points to 1966. The original Miyako Country Club opened on 29 October 1966 at 18 holes and 6,809 yards under J. E. Crane's design. Nine additional holes were added in the 1980s, but the course was later reworked after severe weather damage and a 2020 renewal programme supervised by professional Norio Suzuki. The current profile records the resulting 18-hole routing.
Did You Know? The club's name changed from Miyako Country Club to Nissin Miyako Country Club in 1984. The course therefore carries a visible link between its original Kyoto identity and the Nissin Foods group that now stands behind the club. The 2020 reconfiguration is why older material can show a much longer routing: the original course was listed at 6,809 yards, while today's profile is 6,267.
