Overview: New Kuta Golf occupies the limestone clifftops of Pecatu on Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, where the course looks over the rugged south-coast landscape and the Indian Ocean. Ronald Fream’s 18-hole, par-72 routing is presented as Bali’s first links-style course, with a current company record of approximately 7,455 yards. The ground is open and exposed, so wind, firm-running fairways, beach-like bunkering and the natural dryness of the peninsula all influence club selection. It is a visual course, but the real test is keeping the ball in the right part of the fairway before the approach.
History: New Kuta Golf opened in 2007 as part of the Pecatu Indah Resort development and quickly established a separate identity from Bali’s older inland and resort courses. The current course materials continue to identify Ronald Fream as the principal architect and to present the full 18-hole routing. Because published totals vary between the company prospectus and open-data surveys, the profile keeps the yardage approximate and avoids suggesting that every source is describing the same tee setup.
Did You Know? The official hole guide calls the sixth a standout par 3 and identifies the “Cliff Hanger” halfway house as one of the course’s recognisable features. The guide also notes that the site’s dry creek beds, elevated greens and clusters of bunkers are visible from the tee, giving players a clear picture of the risk before they choose a line. That combination of transparency and exposure is central to New Kuta’s links character.
