Overview: New Giza Golf Club is an 18-hole desert course in the New Giza development west of Cairo, laid through the floor and walls of an old quarry. The Thomson Perrett & Lobb design is a par-72 layout of 7,100 yards from the back tees, with multiple teeing areas, strategic bunkering, lakes, elevation changes and large undulating greens. The quarry landform remains part of the course's visual and playing identity, while portions of the layout look toward the Giza pyramids.
History: The course opened for play in 2019 as the final design of the Thomson Perrett & Lobb partnership, which comprised Peter Thomson, Ross Perrett and Tim Lobb. New Giza later became a tournament venue, including the NewGiza Pyramids Challenge on the Pro Golf Tour, linking the modern course to Egypt's growing professional golf calendar.
Did You Know? The official hole guide describes the 4th as a par three with roughly a 30-metre drop from tee to green and the Giza pyramids behind it. It also says the 13th green was modelled on the 13th green at Woking Golf Club in England, giving the course a specific architectural reference beyond its quarry setting.
