Overview: Rising from the reclaimed lands on the edge of the Gooimeer, Naarderbos Golf Course is a high-energy championship layout that captures the modern spirit of Dutch polder golf. Designed by the esteemed Gerard Jol and opened in 2003, the course is defined by its strategic water hazards, expansive bunkering, and a layout that winds through diverse landscapes, offering both open, wind-swept polder fairways and more sheltered, tree-lined corridors. With its large, undulating greens and high-caliber competitive feel, Naarderbos provides a sophisticated par-71 tests that prizes both power off the tee and a delicate touch around its well-guarded putting surfaces, all just minutes from the historic fortifications of Naarden.
Did You Know? The course was a flagship project in the early 2000s aimed at transforming the Naarderbos recreation area into a premier sports destination. Its design was specifically tailored to serve as a vital ecological corridor, and the club has worked extensively to maintain a series of "bird-reception islands" within its water hazards, which have become preferred nesting grounds for local aquatic species like the purple heron.
