Overview: Along the Intracoastal Waterway in central Myrtle Beach, Palmetto at Myrtlewood provides 18 public holes, with fairways that use the Intracoastal Waterway and the mature coastal landscape around it. Edmund Ault's par-72 design reaches about 6,953 yards from the back tees and balances water views with tree-lined corridors, strategic bunkering and approachable green complexes. Its central location makes it a natural first or last round for a Grand Strand golf trip.
History: Palmetto opened in 1973, seven years after Myrtlewood's PineHills Course, making Myrtlewood the Grand Strand's first multi-course property. The club's central location and two distinct layouts helped support Myrtle Beach's growth into a major golf destination. Recent greens and bunker renovation work has refreshed the course while retaining the original Ault identity and waterway setting.
Did You Know? Palmetto was the first course in the Myrtle Beach area to play along the Intracoastal Waterway. That relationship gives the routing a coastal edge without turning it into a seaside links course, with the waterway appearing as a strategic and scenic thread through the round.
