Mountaintop Golf & Lake Club

Overview: Tom Fazio's mountain routing at Mountaintop Golf & Lake Club in Cashiers on the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau. The club's own golf page describes a course reserved for its equity members, their families and invited guests. Its setting among the plateau's hills and valleys is a central part of the design identity.

History: Mountaintop was developed as a private mountain community rather than as a daily-fee public course. The current club presents the 18-hole layout as the center of a member-owned golf experience, with Tom Fazio responsible for the course and its integration into the plateau landscape.

Did You Know? Fazio designed Mountaintop on the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau, where hills and valleys shape the course instead of the flatter coastal and Sandhills terrain found elsewhere in North Carolina.
