Overview: Mountain Falls Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 desert course in Pahrump, west of Las Vegas. The layout measures 7,082 yards and was co-designed by Nicklaus Design and Cal Olson Design. Its setting combines wide desert views, surrounding mountain ranges and the quieter scale of a planned community, while the two nines are deliberately different in character. Fairway movement, bunkers, desert margins and rolling greens provide the main strategic structure without relying on a single signature hazard.
History: Mountain Falls was developed in stages as part of the Pahrump community. The first nine entered play in 2002, and the second nine followed in 2003, completing the 18-hole routing recorded in the directory. Nicklaus Design and Cal Olson Design worked on the course together, and the present club continues to describe the contrast between the two nines as a defining part of the design. The facility has also maintained a year-round identity through its all-rye fairways and a policy of avoiding overseeding-related closures, according to the operator’s course page.
Did You Know? The official course page records a course-best score of 63 and specifically points to the different personalities of the two nines. That contrast is intentional: Mountain Falls was not built as eighteen repetitions of one desert template, but as a single round that changes its visual and strategic emphasis as it moves through the property.
