Overview: The Open Course at Moonah Links is Peter Thomson’s championship layout on the Mornington Peninsula, built across dramatic coastal ground with tight fairways, natural bunkering and strong wind exposure. The full championship presentation reaches about 7,415 yards, with multiple tees changing the scale for everyday play.
History: Moonah Links was purpose-built to host major Australian tournaments, and the Open Course staged the Australian Open in 2003 and 2005. Thomson treated the property as a large, rugged links landscape, allowing the dunes and Moonah trees to remain visible in the routing.
Did You Know? Moonah Links describes the Open Course as the only course in Australia designed and built specifically to host the Australian Open.
