Overview: Moon Spa and Golf Club ~ Lakes/Dunes is the Lakes/Dunes 18-hole combination in Mexico. Moon Spa and Golf Club ~ Lakes/Dunes combines Moon Palace’s water-oriented Lakes nine with the more exposed Dunes loop. The result is an 18-hole routing through tropical vegetation, sandy edges and resort wetlands, with the two nines offering a noticeably different visual language from the other published combinations. The design credit at Moon Spa and Golf Club ~ Lakes/Dunes goes to Jack Nicklaus. Moon Spa and Golf Club ~ Lakes/Dunes offers a par-72 resort combination, while the exact yardage remains blank because the official 10,798-yard total is for the entire 27-hole facility, not the selected pair.
History: Moon Palace’s 27 holes opened in November 2002 as three par-36 nines designed by Jack Nicklaus. The directory keeps Lakes/Dunes separate because a traveler comparing rounds should be able to tell which two nines form the selected 18-hole experience.
Did You Know? The operator’s signature-hole notes identify Dunes 3 as a 229-yard par 3 and Lakes 8 as a 150-yard par 3. Both are short-hole tests, but their surroundings differ, making wind, vegetation and water context part of the challenge.
