Overview: Located in Aigle in the Swiss canton of Vaud, Montreux Golf Club is a classic 18-hole parkland course originally laid out in 1900 and later redesigned by Ronald Fream. Set on a flat valley floor surrounded by towering alpine peaks, the layout features narrow, tree-lined fairways, a dense canopy of ancient oaks and sequoias, and strategically placed ponds. The course demands pinpoint accuracy off the tee and disciplined iron play to navigate the tight forest corridors.
History: Founded in 1900, Montreux is one of Switzerland's historic pioneer clubs, originally built to cater to wealthy British tourists visiting the Swiss Riviera. In 2005, American architect Ronald Fream completed a comprehensive modernization that updated the greens, bunkers, and water hazards to modern standards while meticulously preserving the historic, century-old trees.
Did You Know? From nearly every tee, players can enjoy breathtaking, 360-degree views of the snow-capped Swiss Alps, including the majestic Dents du Midi. This spectacular mountain amphitheater provides one of the most stunning backdrops in European golf.
