Overview: Monticello Golf Club at Savannah Lakes Village is a public-access par-72 course along South Carolina’s Freshwater Coast. Tom Clark’s modern links-style layout uses rolling ground, forested shoreline, and water that comes into play on much of the card. From the back tees it measures 7,032 yards, with wide views toward Lake Thurmond shaping the round.
History: Monticello was developed as the second of Savannah Lakes Village’s two Tom Clark courses. The community’s golf program grew around the lakefront landscape, and Monticello was planned as the more modern links-style counterpart to the neighboring Tara course. The course remains connected to the broader residential and recreational development.
Did You Know? Bald eagles nest in tall trees along the Freshwater Coast setting described by Savannah Lakes Village. That detail helps explain why the course’s lake and forest edges are more than scenery: they are part of a managed landscape with an ecological identity.
