Overview: The Caramulo Route at Montebelo Golfe is generally considered the "championship" 18-hole combination of the resort, utilizing the original starting holes of the property. This mountainous routing is named after the nearby Serra do Caramulo and is characterized by its wide, rolling fairways that weave through high-altitude forests. The design emphasizes natural integration with the terrain, with several fairways following the natural slope of the mountainside and greens perched in locations that offer stunning vistas across the central Portuguese interior.
Did You Know? The course's high elevation provides a unique challenge: the ball travels noticeably further in the thin mountain air, forcing players to rethink their yardages. However, this advantage is often offset by the technical challenge of the fast, sloping greens, which were constructed to USGA standards and require a delicate touch to avoid three-putts on the mountain undulations.
